Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your 2safiri account, what happens to your data when you do, and how long the process takes. It is provided to meet the in-app and out-of-app account-deletion disclosure required by app distribution platforms (including Google Play).

1. How to request deletion

Send an email from the address registered on your account to support@komiut.com with the subject line “Delete my account”. Include your organisation name and the email address on the account so we can verify your request.

You may also raise a deletion request from the Support section of the platform once you are signed in.

2. Verification

Before we delete an account we will verify the request, typically by replying to the registered email address. This protects you against unauthorised deletion. We may ask for additional information if the account belongs to an organisation with multiple users.

3. What we delete

Account profile: organisation name, contact name, email address, phone number, authentication credentials.

Personnel records you created: names, contact details, role assignments and vehicle assignments.

Operational records you created: vehicles, routes, route stops, travel passes, parcels, parcel locations, notifications and support tickets, subject to the retention exceptions in the next section.

Preferences and session data stored on our servers and in your browser.

4. What we may retain

Financial and tax records (transactions, invoices, payment evidence) may be retained for up to seven (7) years where Kenyan tax law requires it.

Records needed to resolve an active dispute, enforce our agreements, prevent fraud or comply with a legal obligation may be retained for as long as that purpose requires.

Anonymised or aggregated information that cannot reasonably be linked back to you or your organisation may be retained indefinitely.

5. Timeline

Once verified, deletion is normally completed within thirty (30) days. Backups containing residual copies are overwritten on our standard backup cycle, typically within a further ninety (90) days.

6. Reversing a request

Before deletion is final, you can cancel the request by replying to our confirmation email. After deletion is complete, the action cannot be reversed and the data cannot be recovered.

7. Effect on end-users

Where your account holds personal data about passengers, parcel senders or recipients, that data is deleted alongside your account, except where we are required to keep it under section 4.
